Early  success with use of transdermal lidocaine as primary patch analgesia after joint replacement
Preliminary results from a study currently underway suggest that use of a transdermal lidocaine 5% patch may reduce the overall use of oral analgesics, including opioids, following knee replacement surgery.

FDA announcement regarding acetaminophen in prescription drugs
The FDA has asked manufacturers of prescription products that contain an acetaminophen combination to limit the amount of acetaminophen in these products to no more than 325mg per dose.

MDS 3.0 transition to begin October 2010
